Blue Globe Web Hosting was founded by me, Kevin Arscott, in October 2009. I have used hosting companies for several years and although I had always been happy with the service I had received, I often felt that I was paying for things that I really didn't need and that if I wanted a reasonable amount of bandwidth or data storage I would have to pay over the odds because of this.
Over the years I also started designing and building websites for friends and local businesses, as this started to take off I became frustrated with having to pay third parties for hosting packages that didn't necessarily give the customer what they needed - they always seemed to be too much or too little. I therefore decided to form my own hosting company with other designers, bloggers and general web enthusiasts so that I could specify packages more specifically and cater for people who just wanted to run a blog or a CMS website without having to pay for unlimited sub-domains or other things that they don't really need or want.
You may at first find the six packages for different types of web hosting to be overkill, but hopefully you'll see that these incremental packages are designed to grow as your website, blog or business does. This means that you can start with a small, cost-effective package that enables you to learn about web-development, online business opportunities or building up a readership on a blog without having to pay too much each year.
The advantage of incremental packaging is that should your traffic grow then you can take the next step up the line, knowing that the price increase is only small and that you don't have to jump straight to a really expensive package right away because your host doesn't provide intermediate steps. Furthermore, you'll find our bandwidth and storage space exceptionally good value for money, without making any sacrifices in quality.
This is particularly important for bloggers who may be put off by the idea of owning their own web domain because of high initial set-up and hosting costs. They therefore choose to have a free blog with Google Blogger or Wordpress.com only to build up traffic steadily over a year and realise that they now want their own domain; but moving domain means losing a lot of the traffic that you have built up as all the links that have built up over the internet are pointing at your existing content under Wordpress.com or Blogspot.com.
Blue Globe Web Hosting is therefore designed to offer bloggers a starter package that enables them to own their own domain and build up their blog traffic safe in the knowledge that they do not need to move, that they can upgrade their hosting account as they grow and the price increases only ever incur in small, incremental steps.
Blue Globe Web Hosting is a business that focuses on value for money, choice and a personal service. We may not offer the call centres of larger hosting companies, but neither do we believe that most people who purchase web-hosting need that level of support. We realise that increasing amounts of people are happy to get on with their websites without too much technical support - and with one-click install scripts for the most popular blogging, Content Management Systems, chat forums and shopping carts available on the majority of our packages we're confident you will not need us.
Of course, this isn't to say things will not go wrong and sometimes you'll hit a brick wall in your own knowledge. If this is the case then we're happy to offer you support. Just create a ticket with our Support team and we'll get straight on it.
Likewise, if you want your website to be set-up then we do offer this for a small fee. We'll make sure your website is up and running and you can focus on being creative and adding content - let us worry about the technical side of things. What we are confident of is that once you get the hang of the most popular blogging or Content Management Systems you'll realise that the only time you'll be contacting technical support is when the servers go down - because we aim for (and achieve) 99% uptime, this shouldn't be too often.
